Chocolate Chip Cookies

Having two growing kids is really challenging, especially that they could always be hungry!  I looked for simple cookie recipes  that I could bake while waiting for them to be back from school so that when they’re home, they could have something to snack on.

Here’s what I found:  Chocolate Chip Cookies!

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter

1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup+ 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1 cup chocolate chips

1 cup chopped cashew nuts

Baking Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Grease two baking sheets. Set aside.

Cream butter until soft and fluffy.  Add sugars and continue beating until smooth.  Blend in egg and vanilla.  Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture.  Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.  Drop by tablespoons on baking sheets about two inches apart.  Bake until edges are brown.

Enjoy your cookies!

Expected yield:  2-3 dozens

i always prefer home baked cookies than buying at the grocery store because they tend to make it too sweet in my taste buds . whereas if you bake them at home you can throw in special ingredients like cashew and other nuts in the dough and bake it.
