I have always heard about Penang, Malaysia to be a food haven. So I was so excited to finally set foot on this small but apparently famous city! Our host has been so generous about letting us try their specialties.
This is Nasi Lemak, Malaysia’s Number 1 breakfast– our host bragged. It’s rice, boiled egg with dried fish (the small ones which we also have in our home country)– but the secret ingredient there that made the difference is the sauce that is a bit spicy, sweet and salty.
Malaysians love buy food for take out, so this is wrapped with a plastic food wrap, and then with an old newspaper. This is really a winner. I loved every bite of it!
